This year has been a tough one for me.
Everything expensive decided to break…one after the other. And then my company laid me off. Well, not just me. They closed the whole office, laying off over fifty people.
As they may say, this was bad news and good news. The bad news? I lost my steady income and health care. The good news? I turn 65 in less than a month so there’s Medicare (or is this also bad news?). And while job hunting, I am concentrating on my writing business.
My stress levels have definitely dropped. Since my last day was last Friday, next week starts a new schedule of tasks. I have to figure out what I will do when so I can get more content out in a more timely fashion. I literally have 2 drafts I need to edit, 1 book about to be published and 1 draft I am working on now. This is the most I have had as backup in a while.
I also am releasing some omnibuses or collections. The first volume is up already and will probably upload the second tomorrow. These will be inexpensive–I am starting at $0.99 each for two books and a novella. Around 600 pages.
I also have to get back to releasing short stories on Ream. I missed the 10th of this month and am currently late on the 20th (story is done; just needs to be edited and uploaded).
Anyhow, I hope your summer is going better than mine! But perhaps things will turn around soon.
